If you've been at least somewhat paying attention to the real estate market in Orlando, you probably have heard that the market is either "crazy", "hot" or "insane"...or all three. Due to several factors, such as the influx of families relocating from other states such as New York and California, and the historically low inventory in the region; home prices has been on a steady climb now for a while. The law of supply and demand is in full effect in Central Florida and many other parts of the state. Creating a market in which some home owners have decided to cash in.
In neighborhoods like Lake Nona, home prices have been soaring. The demand in the area dubbed 'Medical City' was already one of the highest in all of the State before the current market "craziness". Per ORRA (Orlando Regional Realtor Association), since the pandemic the median home price in Orlando rose by 12%. Now with the lack of homes to meet the even higher demand, the increase seen in high demand areas is far more than that. Up to 45% in some areas.
